We received generous Platinum IDUB grant from Gdańsk Tech! :)

We are sincerely grateful to Gdańsk Tech for awarding us a generous Platinum IDUB grant for the project titled "Invasive Brain-Computer Interfaces for Electrical Memory Modulation in Thalamocortical Circuits." This financial support will allow us to purchase a necessary electrophysiology recording system, significantly expand our team, and create new opportunities to present our latest results.

In this upcoming project, we aim to further develop advanced strategies for enhancing memory using deep brain stimulation. We will implant an invasive brain-computer interface into the anterior thalamus, programmed to deliver temporally irregular electrical pulses that mimic natural brain signals. These stimulation patterns, inspired by studies from Simonnet & Brecht (2019) and Dillingham et al. (2024), mimic three common activity modes: dominant bursting, sparse bursting, and irregular firing—observed, observed in the subiculum and mammillary bodies, two key input structures of anterior thalamus.
